Effect of Heat Input on the Wire-Arc Additive Manufactured Steel Structures

Wire arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) is one of the less-explored metal 3D printing technologies that hold up a huge potential for large-scale product across multiple industries. The low-cost AM uses energy as heat source and metallic wire feedstock material. process sustainable supports green manufacturing. However, major challenge associated with WAAM management leads to development residual stress causing dimensional inaccuracy poor surface finish. Therefore, four-layer straight wall structures are fabricated by depositing material layer-upon-layer nine distinct inputs (HI). prime focus work study effect HI on accuracy quality deposited structures. influence deposition height topography investigated. Furthermore, mechanical properties WAAM-printed thin examined. results show increase in number layers, roughness values get increased under similar parameter used part fabrication. it recommended re-adjust after certain layers proper monitoring thermal condition while fabricating medium large components. outcomes from studies increases component deteriorates layer responsible reducing component.
